The NV Review

NV is a dietary supplement that has been developed specifically for women. This is what is said on their official site: “Be sexy. Be confidential. Be DesiredTM with NVTM - the world’s first rapid weight-loss product with beauty-enhancing properties.” Well, technically, NV was not the first nor is it the only dietary supplement designed for women. There are plenty products out there, including Xylestril and ZalesTrim.

This dietary supplement is comprised of 3 different proprietary blends that focus on weight loss, energy, and beauty. The truth about NV is that though these complexes contain decent ingredients, they do not provide you with the proper serving size of the ingredient to have much of any positive weight loss effect.

For example NV contains Green Tea, but it contains only 100mg. It also contains Hoodia, which may be a good appetite suppressant, but the dosage in NV doesn’t give you enough Hoodia to make it an effective appetite suppressant. There are several other dietary supplements with these ingredients that contain a larger dosage.

Positives

- Endorsed by Carmen Electra

- Contains Green Tea

Negatives

- Ineffective fat burner

- A poor appetite suppressant

- Expensive

- No Money Back or Satisfaction Guarantee

Customer Feedback

Here is some customer feedback that I found.

“I felt like throwing up every single day I took the supplement. Did nothing to curb appetite - just gave me a headache and nausea ON TOP of the hunger. Total waste of money.”

“I didn’t notice any positive changes at all. I think it made me even more hungy than I already was.”

“Found myself hungrier taking the product. Did nothing for my hair & nails either after one month.”

“This is the worst product I have ever used. First of all, it does not work. It did not help me lose any weight…I added it to help boost my loss, didnt work. Even with my regular workouts! Didn’t notice any difference with my hair, either. My advice, STAY AWAY!!!”

Conclusion

In conclusion NV contains only 2 good ingredients, but that doesn’t mean it is an amazing fat burner or will help you lose any weight. My feeling is that NV tries to deliver too much and fails to provide the customer with the dosages proven to help people lose weight.

60 NV capsules retails for $49.99 and will last you 30 days.

I found that the best price is on eBay for $25+ or Amazon for the same price - but that is still way too much to pay for what you get with this product.

Take a look below at the top rated fat burners. Many of these fat burners use clinically proven, real world proven, and patented ingredients that have been shown to be safe and extremely effective at helping users lose a lot of weight in a short time period without the need to break your piggy bank.

Lipo-6x

lipo6x.jpg

Lipo-6x

Lipo-6x is the latest diet-pill from Nutrex Research and I must say, it has a few pretty sweet gimmicks.  Each pill is a liquid capsule with a smaller capsule inside and with even smaller little bead capsules in it.  So the big question is whether this little Russian-doll of a diet pill is effective or if it’s just a gimmick.

Does Lipo-6x Work?

The major ingredients in Lipo-6x:

  • Caffeine (200 mg)
  • Acacia Rigidula (100 mg)
  • Synephrine (20 mg)
  • Synthetic Guggulsterones (20 mg)
  • Yohimbe (3 mg)

There are a few winners here and a few losers.  Caffeine and Synephrine are winners and have long been proven effective in boosting metabolism and helping to burn fat, but 20 mg is not enough of synephrine to make a difference.

The company claims that no other product on the market contains acacia rigidula.  This is probably because there is almost no evidence behind its effectiveness.  It may contain a small amount of phenylethylamine but there is just too little research on it to prove anything.  As for synthetic guggulsterones in this concentration they are likely to be only marginally effective and scientifically speaking, yohimbe has no business in a weight loss product despite its popular use.

Lipo-6x Pros

  • Really cool looking pill design

Lipo-6x Cons

  • Contains ineffective ingredient concentrations
  • Includes ingredients unrelated to weight-loss
  • Over priced at $60 a bottle

Lipo-6x Conclusion

If you want to pay $60 for a bottle of really cool looking pills, then I say go for it, but be warned that there is not enough juice in this stuff to really help you in your weight-loss process.  I do not recommend Lipo-6x.

Hydroxycut

Hydroxycut Review

Hydroxycut is a pretty popular diet supplement with a particularly expensive advertising campaign.  Their website alone is a work of art.  However, for a person serious about weight loss, seeing heavier people morph into their thinner selves is a lot less important than actual results.  I’ve taken a closer look at Hydroxycut to help you sort through the hype.

Does Hydroxycut Work?

Researching the ingredient list is a little difficult with hydroxcut.  Why?  Because it is nothing but proprietary blends that are usually only used to disguise weak ingredient concentrations or off-balance combinations that save a company money and short-change YOU, the person looking to lose weight.  The one ingredient they have actually given a real concentration on and that has anything to do with weight loss is caffeine at a pretty standard 200mg amount.  This is always good to boost your metabolism.

Aside from caffeine, I see some benefit in the inclusion of tea extracts like Green, White, and Oolong but their concentrations are not specified.  The inclusion of hydroxycitric acid and gymemna is just fine, but I haven’t found a lot of research that concludes they are very effective.  Again, it is impossible to know the concentration.

Hydroxycut Side Effects

  • Some common ones include:
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Nose bleeds
  • Acne outbreaks
  • Headaches, Dizziness

Hydroxycut Pros

  • Offers some controlled study results on the website
  • Includes Green, Oolong, White Tea

Hydroxycut Cons

  • Proprietary blends make concentrations ambiguous
  • Ingredients barely justify $30 price tag
  • Significant side effects

Hydroxycut  Conclusion

At first I was pretty impressed by the website and advertising for Hydroxycut and that it is sold in so many places, but on closer inspection it does not appear any more unique than so many of the other generic and ambiguous weight-loss pills you can find online.  The ingredients are basic and the concentrations are not included.  I do not recommend Hydroxycut.  If you are seriously looking to weight, and not simply for a well-publicized product, then I suggest you look a little further.

What is the Most Effective Way to Achieve Weight Loss?

With so many weight loss supplements out there, it is difficult to distinguish the good from the bad. This review is written to help you with your decision.

Prescription Weight Loss Pills

Out of all the weight loss products, prescription weight loss pills are the most expensive. In order to get a prescription, you will need to visit the doctor. There are some effective prescription weight loss pills out there but something to consider is that they usually come with the most side effects. While prescription pills might be a good choice for some, for the majority, over-the-counter weight loss supplements are a better choice.

Over-The-Counter Weight Loss Supplements

Over the counter weight loss supplements can be just as effective, are a fraction of the price, and usually don’t come with the side effects. The key is being able to spot which over-the-counter supplements will help you lose weight.

Look for Proven Ingredients

There are two essential things to look for in a weight loss supplement, an effective fat burner and an appetite suppressor. If a supplement is missing one or both of these two things, don’t waste your time or money.

Make sure the ingredients contained are backed by scientific research. Make sure that the supplement has some of these clinically proven ingredients: super citrimax, advantra z, forslean, and Tonalin CLA, to just name a few.

Look for Satisfaction and Money Back Guarantees

Guarantees not only protect you from getting ripped off but it also shows that a company has confidence in their own product.

Watch Out for Autoship Programs

Be careful with autoship or “membership” programs. Most of the times you’ll just get stuck having your credit card billed every month for a product you don’t want.

The top diet pills ranked below excelled in several categories including: efficacy (does it work!), safety, company reputation, return policies and guarantees, and price.

Weight Loss Pill

How to Determine the Best Weight Loss Pill?

Finding an effective weight loss pill is essential in our quest to lose weight. With so many companies claiming such big results it is difficult to distinguish the good from the bad. This review is designed to help you with your decision.

Do the Research!

The fact that you are on a weight loss pill review website is a good sign. Don’t just take a company’s word for it. Research it. Look for customer testimonials but be wary of testimonials that sound too good. Look for scientific research and studies done on the product.

It’s All About the Ingredients

Make sure that the supplement has some of these clinically proven ingredients: super citrimax, advantra z, forslean, and Tonalin CLA, to just name a few.

Be careful with proprietary blends. Many companies use proprietary blends as a way of masking ineffective and cheap ingredients.

Satisfaction and Money Back Guarantees

Guarantees not only protect you from getting ripped off but it also shows that a company has confidence in their own product.

Watch Out for Autoship Programs

Be careful with autoship or “membership” programs. Most of the times you’ll just get stuck having your credit card billed every month for a product you don’t want.

Xenical

Xenical

What is Xenical?

Xenical is a prescription drug made by Roche Laboratories Inc. It is a drug that is for the extremely obese. Only those with a body mass index over 30 should consider taking Xenical. Xenical is to be use in conjunction with a strict diet and regular exersise (but then again you should with every other weight loss supplement). Xenical promises to help you lose those unwanted pounds. Can it stand up to its claims? Let’s take a closer look.

Xenical Ingredients

Xenical is comprised of Orlistat. Orlistat is a fat blocker. According to the makers of Xenical, “when taken with meals, XENICAL attaches to the lipases and blocks them from breaking down some of the fat you have eaten. The undigested fat cannot be absorbed and is eliminated in your bowel movements. By working this way, XENICAL helps block about one-third of the fat in the foods you eat from being absorbed by your body.”

Studies back Xenica’s fat blocking claims but show that Xenical will only help you lose one pound per month. Worse than all this, Xenical comes with many embarrassing side effects.

There are no fat burners or appetite suppressants contained in Xenical.

Side Effects of Xenical

The most common side effects associated with Xenical are uncontrollable bowel movements in the form of oily discharges. The blocked fat unfortunately has to go somewhere. Other common side effects include extreme gas and urinary leaks. If you take Xenical it might be a good idea to stay out of public situations until you’re off of it.

Price of Xenical

Xenical, like most prescription drugs, is very expensive. It will cost you $300 for 100 capsules of Xenical. This does not include the cost of going to the doctor.

Xenical Pros

  • May help with weight loss

Xenical Cons

  • No fat burners
  • No appetite suppressants
  • Ugly Side Effects
  • Prescription needed
  • Expensive

Xenical Conclusion

Xenical doesn’t have the potency to deliver the results necessary to justify the high price and terrible side effects.

Fat Burner

Fat Burner Review

Do Fat Burner’s Work?

Yes. Most likely you know someone who is skinny as a stick no matter what they eat. They are blessed (or cursed) with a fast metabolism. No matter what they ingest they are able to burn it right off and not gain a pound.

Fat Burners work to aid the speeding up of your metabolisms so you can burn off those extra calories in a safe and effective manner.

How do Fat Burners Work?

Most Fat Burner supplements contain a stimulant such as Green Tea, Synephrine, Yohimbine, or very commonly – caffeine. These ingredients increase the body’s metabolic rate and consequently help you burn more calories.

Are Fat Burners Safe?

The safety of a Fat Burner depends on the ingredients. Fortunately trial and error have made safe and available some very effective fat burning ingredients. In the past such ingredients as ephedra were used which has since been banned by the Food and Drug Administration.

Which Ingredients are safe and Effective in Fat Burners?

The best and safest ingredients found in the top-rated fat burners are: Green Tea, Yerba Mate, Advantra-Z, Guarana, PEA, Chocamine, Synephrine, and Chromium Polynicotinate.

Not all Fat Burners are the same and not all Fat Burners will contain all of the above mentioned ingredients. Many Fat Burners are designed to target specific areas and help your body in specific ways.

Fat Burner Pros

Advances in Science have made Fat Burners safe and effective.

They work to aid your body in its natural functions

Help you burn calories and lose unwanted weight

Fat Burner Cons

There are too many to chose from!

Fat Burner Conclusion

If you are finding it difficult to lose weight a Fat Burner is the solution. With so many options it is hard to know which one to use, but luckily you are reading this review and have a good solid base from which to start your journey.

Wulong Tea

Wu Long Tea

What is Wu Long Tea?

Wu Long Tea is an ingredient found in many weight loss supplements. Proponents of Wu Long Tea claim among other things: speedy weight loss, clearer skin, and reduced risk of cancer. Detractors of Wu Long Tea claim otherwise. Let’s take a closer look at Wu Long Tea.

How Does Wu Long Tea Work?

Wu Long Tea is similar to green tea in many aspects. One of the main differences between Wu Long Tea and green tea is that Wu Long Tea is partially fermented and green tea is not. Another difference is the amount of EGCG’s (active ingredient in both Wu Long and green tea) in both the teas. Wu Long Tea contains a smaller amount of EGCG’s, which does not bode well for Wu Long Tea.

There are many health benefits of Wu Long Tea. It is a powerful anti-oxidant and has been proven to help reduce the risk of cancer as well as being an appetite suppressor. Without a substantial amount of EGCG’s however, it might not be that beneficial with weight loss.

One of the key components of Wu Long Tea is caffeine. Caffeine has some great benefits such as increasing both mental and physical outputs but if overused can give some the jitters and lead to anxiety.

Wu Long Tea Side Effects

When taken in the right dosage, there are no side effects to Wu Long Tea. The right dosage is different for different people. When taken in high dosages, Wu Long Tea can lead to insomnia, the jitters, and nausea, among other things

Wu Long Tea Pros

  • Reduced Risk of Cancer
  • Anti-Oxidant
  • Appetite Suppressant
  • Other Health Benefits

Wu Long Tea Cons

  • Doesn’t Contain as Many EGCG’s as Green Tea
  • Possible Side Effects

Wu Long Tea Conclusion

Although Wu Long Tea is not the best weight loss ingredient out there, it is far from the worst and will possibly help you lose weight.

Lipovox

lipovox.jpgLipovox

We don’t want to sound like an advertisement, but Lipovox is one of the Best Weight Loss Pills on the market. It’s cheap, it offers a guarantee and, well, it works. It didn’t make our top 3 Weight Loss Pills list because a competitor, Leptodrene, offers a similar product for the same price, but you get twice as much.

What is Lipovox?

Lipovox’s formula is based on the research of Dr. Perricone, Oprah Winfrey’s nutritionist and sometimes guest on her show. His research shows that this blend of essential vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids will significantly improve the condition of your skin as well as help you lose weight. The primary ingredients contained in Lipovox include…

  • Green Tea Extract
  • DMAE
  • Alpha Lipoic Acid
  • Barley Juice Powder
  • Acai Extract
  • Cayenne Pepper Fruit
  • Wheatgrass Extract
  • Flaxsee Oil Powder
  • Alfalfa Extract
  • Salmon Oil Powder
  • Soybean Extract
  • Buckwheat Concentrate
  • Lactobacilus Acidophillus
  • Garlic Extract

From the research I have found, this is certainly an impressive formula of antioxidants, natural metabolic rate enhancers, and immune system boosters. I have a lot of confidence in the safety and effectiveness of this formula.

Lipovox Pros

  • High-quality Ingredients
  • Completely Safe
  • Great Price
  • Money-back Guarantee

Lipovox Cons

Lipovox Conclusion

We give Lipovox the go ahead. It’s a great deal at around $22.50-$29 a bottle for a 30 day supply.

However, Leptodrene is a much cheaper alternative to Lipovox. It contains the same ingredients, has a guarantee, BUT, you get TWICE AS MANY servings PER BOTTLE. Plus, it can be found for as low as $20 a bottle versus $22.50 for Lipovox.

It makes no difference for us which one you try: you’ll experience the same great results, but Leptodrene will leave you with some extra cash in your pockets.

Lowest Prices

Leptodrene: $20.00-$29.00 (60 Day Supply)

Lipovox: $22.50-29.95 (30 Day Supply)

Adipex

Saturday, December 8th, 2007

adipex.jpgWhat is Adipex?

Adipex, or Adipex-P, is Phentermine. Adipex is an appetite suppressant used for the short-term treatment of obesity. According to the official site, ‘when used in conjunction with diet, exercise, and behavior therapy, Adipex may help you to lose weight while you are learning new ways to eat and to exercise’. The makers of Adipex are really good at stating the obvious. Any supplement, when used with proper diet and exercise may help you lose weight. Adipex is only available with a doctor’s prescription.

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding Adipex and other prescription based diet pills. One of the main controversies is whether or not these types of diet pills are necessary.

The other controversy surrounds the side effects associated with Adipex. The side effects include:

- Chest Pain

- Irregular Heartbeat

- Unusual Thoughts or Behavior

- Trouble Sleeping (insomnia)

- Diarrhea or Constipation

- Dry Mouth or an Unpleasant taste in your mouth

- Hallucinations and Vomiting

Not to mention the risk of overdose can be fatal. Is Adipex really worth the risk? It really doesn’t seem like it. I know many people who think that because it is only available at a pharmacy that it is better. They couldn’t be more wrong.

Pros

- You may lose weight

Cons

- Horrible side effects

- Not a good appetite suppressant

- No Money-Back or Satisfaction Guarantee

- Fatal if combined with other medications

Conclusion

Adipex is one of many diet pill medications that is only available with a doctor’s prescription. We do not condone the use or abuse of medications. The negative side effects associated with Adipex outweigh any sort of positive result that you ‘may’ achieve. Adipex cost close to $200 to fill a prescription.
