Dietrine Carb Blocker Review

Why would you need a Carb Blocker?

For some energy our body uses something called carbohydrates (“carbs” for short).  There are good carbs and bad carbs.  The problem with most carbohydrates is that our body does not rely on them for energy.  It is possible for the body to get the energy it needs from proteins and fats.

The carbohydrates your body does consume are turned into sugar and you start to gain weight.

What Does Dietrine Carb Blocker Do?

A Carb Blocker works to interfere in the body’s natural process and inhibit the process of carbs being turned into sugar.  Ideally, if this interference worked completely you would be able to eat any type of food you wanted and not suffer from the negative results of the carbs turning into sugar.

Are Carbohydrates the only weight-causing agent?

No.  It sure would be nice if carbohydrates were the only things causing our scale to squeak, but the truth is that we reasons we gain weight are many.  Weight gain is also tied to slow metabolisms, deficient levels of energy, depression, thyroid disorders, and others.

Consequently, you are going to need more than just a carb blocker to lose your extra pounds.

Dietrine Carb Blocker Pros

Attacks a unique area of weight gain (see cons)
Contains all-natural ingredients

Dietrine Carb Blocker Cons

Only area of weight control is through blocking carbs (not sufficient)
Costs too much for only addressing one area of weight gain
Expensive

Conclusion

If all you had to do to lose weight was stop your carbs from turning into glucose you’d be set with a carb blocker.  Unfortunately the battle against weight gain is not that easy and you need to follow a proper diet, and exercise regularly.  You’re not going to be able to take a pill and eat whatever you want – sorry.

Hoodia Gordonii Plus Review

This product is made from the Hoodia Gordonii plant in South Africa. The manufacturer is approved by the Western Cape Conservation authority of South Africa, and is certified to be 100% authentic. Hoodia Gordonii Plus claims to work by having your brain think you have enough energy and don’t need to eat more food.

The main ingredients found in Hoodia Gordonni Plus are: Hoodia Gordonii, Magnesium, Green Tea, and Garcinia Cambogia Extract. Hoodia Gordonii is an appetite suppressant. Magnesium has been found to be good for normal muscle and nerve function, steady heart rhythm, a healthy immune system, and strong bones. Green Tea and Garcinia Cambogia Extract both increase energy levels. So far there are no known side effects. However, this product should not be used by pregnant or nursing women. Adults should take two capsules once a day with a meal. A month supply of Hoodia Gordonii Plus will cost $39.95 and can be purchased from either eBay or Amazon.com at a significant discount.

Reasons Why You Might Buy:

  • Gives a money back guarantee.
  • Certified to be 100% authentic.
  • Contains some quality ingredients. Green Tea has been proven to naturally increase energy levels.

Reasons Why You May Not:

  • Priced on the high end of weight loss supplements. Alternative Hoodia products can be found for under $24.95.
  • Contains less Hoodia Gordonii than some other products found. Hoodia Gordonii Plus has 400 MG.

Overall

Overall I would say Hoodia Gordonii Plus seems to be effective in some instances but may cause complications in those with eating disorders. Its overuse can cause the body deprivation of nutrients if not used wisely.

Maker’s Diet Review

This is a diet program based off of the Bible. Maker’s Diet is a holistic approach to help people lose weight. The program incorporates eating foods as outlined in the scriptures and eliminating processed foods. The Maker’s Diet is an effective program but it requires motivation and an extreme diet change for the average people.

This diet program focuses on physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health. The program lasts for a total of 40 days and incorporates a balanced, whole-food nutritional diet. The Makers Diet is broken into three two-week phases and then a maintenance phase to sustain weight loss and overall health. This programis designed to control insulin, infection, and inflammation. The program offers recipes and tools to help users. The program is $5.00 a week but also offers many products, including supplements to help maintain and commit to the diet that range in price from $10.00 -$60.00. You can find more info on the Makers Diet from Amazon.com and eBay.

Positives:

  • Encourages exercise and eating well.
  • Provides evidence to support program design.
  • Offers free trials.
  • Offers recipes and online tools for program members.

Negatives:

  • Requires big commitment to change lifestyle and diet.
  • Offers more expensive products to aid users.

Overall

In conclusion The Maker’s Diet is a successful health and wellness program. The Maker’s Diet requires commitment and motivation to change diet and lifestyle. While a healthier alternative to many weight loss products, The Maker’s Diet is a long-term commitment and may become costly when purchasing products to maintain your diet.

Metabolife

What is Metabolife?

Metabolife is a conglomerate of weight-loss products, each addressing specific needs for those trying to lose weight.  They offer Metabolife Ultra, Metabolife Ultra Weight Management, Metabolife Ultra Caffeine Free, and Metabolife Green Tea Formula.

What are the differences in each Metabolife product?

Each Metabolife product is composed of a similar base with a small difference for different users.  If you are sensitive to large amounts of caffeine for example, the Metabolife Ultra Caffeine Free is available.  It is interesting to note however that other ingredients – such as Green Tea – also contain natural amounts of caffeine.

If you are sensitive to Caffeine, then Metabolife is sure to give you jitters.  Metabolife advertizes that each serving has as much caffeine as one to two cups of coffee.

Is Metabolife Safe?

Depending on your sensitivity to stimulants (such as caffeine) Metabolife may or may not safe for you to take.  It does contain high amounts of caffeine.

Metabolife Pros

  • The myriad of products offers a solution to specific needs

Metabolife Cons

  • High amounts of caffeine
  • Side Effects (due to caffeine)
  • No other significant (proven) ingredients

Metabolife Conclusion

Every diet supplement should be accompanied by healthy exercise.  If you lack the energy to get up and get your body moving then maybe the extra energy from the caffeine might get you to the gym and actually be a good thing.

On the other hand, if you want to find a diet supplement which will give you the results you want without the possible side effects – keep on reading!

UltraSlim

UltraSlim

What is Ultra Slim?

Ultra Slim is made by Gentle Solutions and is purported to help you lose weight without a strict diet or strenuous exercise and no side effects. Where have been all my life Ultra Slim? Before we buy a life supply of Ultra Slim, let’s take a closer look and see if it lives up to its claims.

Ingredients in Ultra Slim

If you look at the Ultra Slim website, you’ll notice that they haven’t posted one single ingredient from their supposed miracle product. This automatically raises a red flag because for something with as much hype as Ultra Slim, there isn’t anything to back it up. They don’t list the ingredients nor are there any scientific data or studies available.

We eventually found what the ingredients were in Ultra Slim from a secondary source. It is full of vitamins and minerals, which are good for overall health but aren’t going to do much for you if you want to lose weight.

Ultral Slim is missing the two essentials for a weight loss supplement, a fat burner and an appetite suppressor.

Price of Ultra Slim

A bottle of Ultra Slim will cost you $40. This is very expensive for a bottle of just vitamins and minerals.

No Satisfaction or Money Back Guarantees

With Ultra Slim, there are no satisfaction or money back guarantees. This shows a lack of confidence in their own product.

Side Effects of Ultra Slim

There are no known side effects for Ultra Slim.

Ultra Slim Pros

  • No known side effects

Ultra Slim Cons

  • Contains no fat burners
  • No satisfaction or money back guarantees
  • No appetite suppressors
  • Expensive

Ultra Slim Conclusion

Without an effective fat burner or appetite suppressant and a high price tag, we don’t recommend Ultra Slim.

LipoTrim

LipoTrim

LipoTrim is a diet supplement which claims to be a carb-blocker, so that you can eat more carbs without actually metabolizing them, thereby not gaining as much fat.

Does LipoTrim Really Work?

Lipotrim contains only two ingredients:  Chromium (100 mcg) and Garcinia Cambogia (500 mg)

Chromium, though included in many diet products has little effect on weight-loss according to scientific studies.  It is in fact an essential mineral to the human body, but deficiency is not a severe problem and taking chromium will not help you lose weight.  Garcinia Cambogia is often included in weight loss supplements for its content of hydroxycitric acid (HCA).  There have been some studies done on animals showing that it decreases the storage of some kinds of fat, but there is no evidence that this will work in humans.  In any case, this product doesn’t show how much HCA it actually contains.

LipoTrim Pros

  • I found none

LipoTrim Cons

  • Contains only two useless ingredients
  • Highly Over-priced at $70

LipoTrim Conclusion

This product offers very little for an extremely high price.  I see nothing to justify the price tag and I do not recommend LipoTrim.

Calogel

CaloGel Review

The makers of CaloGel professe it to be a nutritional supplement that safely and naturally assists the body in shedding extra body fat, sugar, and toxins. This product relies on Collagen Hydrolysate to achieve these results and doesn’t use other more proven ingredients. CaloGel is an expensive, lack luster product.

The product line of Calogel includes: Daytime, Night-time and Liquid formulas. CaloGel’s main active ingredient is Collagen Hydrolysate, a protein that is basic to body structure. Collagen helps in flexibility, resiliency and muscular strength. Collagen does not necessarily lead to weight loss. I could only find a few testimonials about CaloGel and they were on the manufacturer’s website which may question there credibility. The testimonials were enthusiastic and appeared to be biased. A one-month supply costs about $100 - but if you are lucky you will find a bargain on eBay or Amazon.com.

Positives:

  • Offers a variety of products compared to the traditional capsule. Available also in liquid form.
  • Does not contain Caffeine or other stimulants.
  • No known side effects.

Negatives:

  • Lacks effective ingredients that other competing products use.
  • Lacks sufficient evidence to validate promised results.
  • Costs more than most dietary supplements.
  • Gives no money back guarantee.

Overall

In conclusion CaloGel seems to be a safe supplement but lacks real effectiveness. While it utilizes Collagen Hydrolysate, CaloGel lacks more proven ingredients for weight loss. As one of the more expensive dietary supplements, its cost outweighs its ability to achieve the desired results that people want.

Calorie Burn

Calorie Burn Review

Calorie Burn is a product by Six Star Body Fuel. The makers claim Calorie Burn to be a superior formula that elevates the body’s natural metabolic rate, which allegedly allows your body to burn more calories and increase your energy. The following will give a product overview about its strengths, weaknesses, and overall evaluation. Calorie Burn’s lacks enough quality ingredients to be an effective diet supplement.

This product was primarily made for athletes and fitness fanatics. Calorie Burn contains the following main ingredients: Gelatin, Cellulose, and Titanium dioxide. This product comes with a warning, “May cause flushing accompanied by itching. Do not use if pregnant or nursing.” The makers of Calorie Burn suggeste people to take 2 capsules with an 8 oz glass of water 3 times daily spaced evenly throughout the day. A bottle of 100 capsules of Calorie Burn costs $34.99, although it always is on sale at eBay or Amazon.com.

Positives:

  • Can easily be purchased on sale.

Negatives:

  • Little information can be found about the manufacturer and its quality. There is no corporate website, testimonials, or clinical studies to verify results.
  • Lacks effective ingredients that other competing products use.
  • Causes flushing and itching for some users.

Overall

In conclusion, I would say that Calorie Burn is a low cost alternative to other dietary supplements but it most likely will not show real results. With little information or guarantee from the manufacturer, the product may not achieve desired results. In this case, the only thing that may have anything to do with calorie burning is its name.

Proactol

proactol.gif

Proactol

Proactol is a much-publicized and heavily marketed diet pill which somehow expects to justify a $90 “sale” price for one bottle.  It claims to be a “clinically proven fat binder”

Does Proactol Work?

Proactol is essentially a fiber supplement which uses the prickly pear cactus as an active ingredient.  The company claims that this cactus can block 28% of your dietary fat intake.  Having checked at PubMed.com, I found references to prickly pear cactus as a potential reducer of blood lipid levels, but many studies found insufficient proof of significant potency.  I have found no other source to back up the claim of blocking 28% of dietary fat intake.

The Proactol website includes some clinical studies on their product and prickly pear cactus, but none of them have been peer-reviewed and are likely to be heavily biased.  The case may very well be that prickly pear cactus can effectively bind to fats, but the overall effect this may have on your weight would be small and there is nothing to say that the effect could be worth anything close to $90 for a month’s worth.

Proactol Pros

  • Money-back guarantee

Proactol Cons

  • Over-priced, difficult to return
  • Little evidence behind active ingredient

Proactol Conclusion

Given the ridiculous price and weak evidence behind the effects of its active ingredient, I do not recommend Proactol. There is a lot of hype and obviously the company spends a lot of money on advertising, but this doesn’t translate into results.  There is no way this product could be considered cost-effective.

Zylorin

Zylorin

Does Zylorin Work?

Zylorin is one of the weight loss supplements to hit the market. It claims to give you energy while speeding up your metabolism. Sounds good to me. Let’s take a closer look at Zylorin and see if it really works.

Ingredients in Zylorin

Zylorin contains a proprietary blend of main ingredients that including following: Hoodia Gordonii, Chromium, and Green Tea.

Hoodia Gordonii comes from an African cactus and is a purported appetite suppressant. There are no scientific studies that back this claim however.

Green tea is a great supplement. It helps with overall health as well as being an appetite suppressant. Not all green tea is the same, the less EGCG’s  (active ingredient in Green Tea) a product has the less effective it is. The amount of EGCG’s is undisclosed in the green tea in Zylorin.

What is missing in Zylorin is an effective fat burner.

Side Effects of Zylorin

Users of Zylorin have complained of side effects such as headaches, insomnia, and nausea to name a few.

Price of Zylorin

The retail price of Zylorin is nearly $65. This is extremely expensive for a product that doesn’t contain a proven fat burner.

Zylorin Pros

  • Contains Green Tea
  • Money Back Guarantee

Zylorin Cons

  • No effective fat burners
  • No Clinical Studies
  • Very Expensive
  • Possible Side Effects

Zylorin Conclusion

Although Zylorin contains a few good ingredients, it doesn’t contain enough of them to justify the high price tag.
